Hours of Operations

Great Beginnings Early Learning Center opens at 7:30 a.m. and closes promptly at 6 p.m. Late fees of one ($1.00) per minute will be assessed for any pickup 5 minutes after the close of business. The fee is to be paid, in cash, to the Director by no later than the morning of the next school day. Calling the center to inform of lateness is appreciated, but the late fees will still apply. These fees are not tax deductible. Late fees are not babysitting fees and are intended to discourage late pickups. Please note that if you are running late, make other arrangements to have your child picked up on time by an authorized person. Excessive late pickup may result in termination of services.

Great Beginnings is closed on all federal holidays (and observe with federal regulations when the holiday falls on the weekend, Tuesday or Thursday). Holidays are including the following spreadsheet, which will be paid in full as part of the tuition fee, with no exceptions:

Note: GBELC will be closed on all Federal Holidays	Note: If the Alexandria School System is closed for Inclement Weather so is the center.

Inclement Weather Closings

If Alexandria Schools are closed, Great Beginnings Early Learning Center is closed.

If Alexandria Schools open one or two hours late please call our main number to find Great Beginnings Early Learning Centers status. If Alexandria Schools close early, we will close early. Please call our main number to find our closing time.

Attendance

You child must be brought to their class and signed in. Your child must also be picked up at their class and signed out by their teacher. Payment of childcare is for the contracted time and cannot be adjusted for late arrival or early pickup. Late drop-offs Do Not allow for late pick-ups.

Days when the parent(s) choose to keep their child at home, for vacation , doctor appointments, sick days, or personal reasons must be paid in full as a part of the tuition.
