Our Mission at Great Beginnings Early Learning Center is to provide early learners with the tools to learn sharing, compassion, patience, honesty, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. We work closely and collectively with our Early Learners in Partnership with the parents or guardians to prepare them for entry into Kindergarten.
Each child’s individual talents, skills and abilities are nurtured in a loving and compassionate environment. Learning is encouraged through art, science, language, math, recreational play, individual & group dynamics and in the active engagement of the mind, fine motor skills and creativity of your early learner. We offer choices of developmentally appropriate activities and seek to foster a love of learning as they play, learn and explore the world around them.
Who We Are
The Great Beginnings Early Learning center is a Private, Family owned Child care center Licensed by the Virginia Department of Social Services and Registered with the Commonwealth of Virginia as well as the City of Alexandria.
We are a Christian center that focuses on the integral development of children from the ages of 6 weeks to 5 years old with the core belief that a Great Beginning or foundation is the sure path to a Great Future.
We ensure that the children in our care are set on the path to a Great Future by teaching them our core values of compassion, patience, honesty, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. We utilize the “Abeka” curriculum as part of our daily lesson plans and all our classes have a Bible activity each day.
Our Center is located at 618 N Washington St in Old Town Alexandria. The 5300+sq ft facility is Licensed for the care of 70 children within the above stated age groups and features a children’s library, computer room, play area with professional grade synthetic turf and a nursing room for mothers and dads who would like a little one-on-one qualtiy time.
We opened our doors to the families of Old Town Alexandria and the surrounding areas on June 1, 2009 and have been catering to the daycare needs of our children and their families since then. The center is independently owned and operated with a highly qualified staff that are constantly updating and increasing their childcare credentials.
Our Director is always available to answer all questions and address any concerns. Parent involvement is an intricate part of what we do here at Great Beginnings Early Learning Center, so the views and expressions of our families are always welcome.
